Circa 1960s Crewel Seat Mahogany Corner Chair with Reproduction Needlepoint

Founded in 1927, Virginia Craftsmen supplies handmade, reproduction 18th-century furniture. They have provided furniture to Monticello, Colonial Williamsburg, the Rotunda at the University of Virginia, and other historical sites. They originally operated out of Harrisonburg, Virginia. This mahogany corner chair was produced in the 1960’s. The hand stitched crewel needlework on jute is absolutely incredible. Mauve, magenta, and multi shades of green color scheme. Design features a single bird sitting among branches & flowers. Fiddle or vase shaped back splats. Criss cross stretcher. 3 modern cabriole legs and 1 larger plain cabriole leg in the front of the chair that draws your eye in and down the piece.
