A hand carved storage container with beautifully hand carved lid from India from the early to mid 20th C. This hand carved spice storage container has a beautiful patina and visible woodgrain to demonstrate its age. It was likely used for storing spices in the kitchen. These are authentic vessels and not reproductions or created for tourists. The vessel was hand turned with a lathe from a single block of wood. The lid is cleverly attached and opens in a sliding manner.
